Surfaris - Wipe Out
I could be an honary member of Surfaris as I have been / am wiped-out.
Last Saturday it was a 2:30am wakeup to drive over to 桐生 (Kiryu) which is about an hour away in the middle of the night (who does that? what a dork I am - love it!) for about 4 hours of trail running / 4,000 feet of elevation gain to climb up / trail run to 吾妻山 (Mt. Azuma), over to 鳴神山 (Mt. Narukami) and then back. Great run but limited by the amount of water I could carry (was a bit of a pisser - no water to be found on the trail so had to turn around). Here is a picture from the top of Mt. Azuma:
Sunday a good long run, Monday off from running but got in a good swim, Tue - Fri 21 miles total, yesterday my standard 19 miler traversing basically from water fountain to water fountain along the 利根川 river due to the brutal heat/humidity.
And today (Sunday) 4 times up and around 金山 (Mt. Kanayama) for 12 miles and ~ 2,800 feet of elevation gain and loss.
Also managed to get in 3 swims and 3 times to the gym.
I am absolutely wiped out.
If I don't go under 3 hours in my full marathon this fall I could be headed for a self-imposed fate similar to 20 members of the Byakkotai back in 1868 in Aizuwakamatsu (where we used to live) who committed Seppuku. :-) (kidding).
Fun running song from the weekend / in general great song to get some to while running... going way back to my high-school days - Guy - Groove Me (love it!).
